Level 3 Award in Education and training (RQF)

This qualification is aimed at those wanting to teach in the lifelong learning sector, or those already teaching within the sector and do not hold relevant qualifications. The course is conducted via self-study and a compulsory classroom based guided learning course. From September 2007, all new teachers must gain a License to Practice at the start of their career. They have up to 6 months to achieve this from the date that they commence working in the profession. The HABC Level 3 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector will provide an introductory course for new teachers and confer a threshold license to teach. Note that the threshold license to teach allows learners to commence their professional development within the teaching profession.

Level 3 Award in the Delivery of Conflict Management Training (RQF)

This qualification is for people who wish to deliver conflict management skills. It is aimed at tutors who have already completed some generic teaching qualification, such as the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, and who now require a more specialist qualification, for example to teach conflict management skills. For trainers delivering licence-linked qualifications in the private security industry, it meets the requirements laid down by the Security Industry Authority. It is also relevant to trainers working in other areas where there is direct contact with customers, service users or the general public. This programme has been specifically developed to address the issue of confrontation in the workplace through the development of competent work based trainers. Trainers who successfully pass the course will be able to delivery to staff relevant training in respect of communications and conflict management skills. Based upon a skill set of well-established practices the course is ideally suited to those who are required to deliver training to the security sector, police or government bodies or indeed any sector that runs the risk of aggressive confrontation towards staff in the workplace.
